The is five Press publishes books, manuals and curriculum materials on a varietyof social and environmental topics. Many of our publications are a direct result of our education and research projects. Others are developed in cooperation with the author and organization. Our titles present new ideas and alternative perspectives on issues ranging from recycling, water and energy conservation inCanada to economic development in the developing world.

We publish print materials for a wide range of audiences, ranging frompre-school children to adults. Many of our titles are aimed at the educationalmarket, where they support and enhance our work in training and education. Three examples of our titles include:

Bridging the Distance - Children Taking Action for the Environment,UNICEF Canada is five produced an action-oriented, up-to-date teaching resource that introduces global issues of environment and development from the perspective of children around the world. The kit includes field-tested activities for grades 6, 7, and 8 such as board games, slides, role playing excercises, and a flexible collection of learning materials (including teacher's guide, student handouts and classroom aids).

Development Alternatives, is five Press Development Alternatives is a curriculum kit for secondary schools. This package of field-tested learning activities was designed and produced by is five, based on original research in Asia, Africa and Latin America. This innovative publication emphasizes success stories from the South, and a spirit of mutual learning and information exchange between Southern and Northern communities.

Make a Difference, is five Press is five produced a book of environmental ideas for students in grades 6, 7 and 8. This upbeat, positive publication is based on the premise that students can evaluate their present lifestyle at school, home and in their community, and learn practical ways to improve their environment. Topics and activities in the book cover energy management, transportation, recycling, and waste management.
